The Festival of Gardening

a celebration of all things garden

The Festival of Gardening is an annual plant sale held on the first Saturday of May.  This year, the Festival will be on Saturday May 3, and will be held on the lawn of E.C. Glass High School, on the Langhorne Road side.  This event is the Hill City Master Gardener Association’s only fundraiser to support our youth and community outreach programs–and the best opportunity jumpstart your summer garden!  A wide variety of both indoor and outdoor plants were available.  Check out these photos from last year’s 2024 Festival of Gardening!

The Festival features…

Locally grown plants and vegetables

You’ll find more than 3,000 plants – every single one grown from seed, propagated from cutting or divided from mature plants by local Master Gardener volunteers. We offer trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs, wildflowers, houseplants, tropicals, hanging baskets and container gardens. Choose from heirlooms, unusual cultivars – some classic, some new – among the many vegetables. Vegetables include many varieties of tomatoes, from huge slicers to tiny, sweet cherries, several types of peppers, eggplant, squash, cucumbers and many more.  Our prices are more reasonable than at local nurseries or big-box stores.
